Composites
Composites are a high quality alternative to conventional amalgam fillings. They are free from mercury and heavy metals, which has a positive effect on the overall health.
Further advantages are the natural coloration and stability of the teeth.
What are composites made of?
Composites are made of ceramic particals and a plastic matrix. After we apply the material onto the tooth the hardening process follows immediately.
A basic prerequisite for this method is the precondition of the tooth with dentin adhesives. This enables a sealing between the dentin and the filling. It protects the structure of the tooth substance and there is only a minimal gap between the filling and the tooth. By using a special layering technique we can mould the tooth step by step and ensure an adaption to the natural tooth color.
